Keith S Carlton: The purpose of Social Security Disability is to allow persons who have paid into the social security retirement program to collect those benefits before retirement when they become disabled and can't work anymore.
Bobby Wood: Because it is a government program many are under the mistaken illusion that all you have to do is ask for those benefits... 'you know I've paid them in, therefore I should be paid.'
It's not that way. Social Security is a complicated program, disability is difficult to get, yet you have to be able to have all your paperwork in order to properly file and you need someone who is familiar with it who understands that program.
