Investigation underway after 4 electricians injured on the job

When unsafe working conditions exist, the chances of becoming injured while working are much greater. Employers in Corinth have a responsibility to make sure that all safety guidelines, state and federal, are followed to prevent an employee from being hurt on the job. Furthermore, companies should be making it a priority to review safety rules with their staff and inspecting job sites to make sure that there is nothing that could pose a threat to employees.

Four contract electricians were injured recently while working on a plant located on the Mississippi River. It is unsure at this time what exactly caused the workplace injury accident or whether the incident will need to be reported to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The details are rather sketchy, but it appears that the electricians received first and second degree burns as a result of the accident. It is unknown what exactly the electricians were in the process of doing when the accident occurred. Personnel at the chemical facility will conduct their own investigation and the electricians are expected to be all right.

Whether the plant was at fault for the accident or not, the electrician should be able to receive financial assistance through workers’ compensation. However, applying for workers’ compensation can be a difficult process and if the claim is filled out incorrectly, a worker could find their application denied. When someone is injured on the job, it may be a good idea for them to contact an experienced workers’ compensation attorney. The attorney can explain to them the process, help them fill out the necessary paperwork and prepare to appeal if the claim is rejected.
